Stephen
Edwin King was born on September 21, 1947 in Portland, Maine.
In 1970, King graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor's
degree in English. Before publishing his first novel, Carrie
in 1974, King worked as a janitor and a teacher, among many other
jobs. However, with the release of this first novel, there's been
no looking back. Now with a plethera of popular novels under his
belt, a hearty collection of anthologies and a myriad of film credits,
the dubbed "Master of Modern Horror" continues to shock, scare and
excite fans with over 100 million copies of his work to date sold
