"Mostly, I'd just like to look over the country around
the gorge again, just to bring some of it clear in my mind
again.
I been away a long time."
- from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Ken
Kesey was born in La Junta, Colorado on September 17, 1935.
As a cultural entity, Kesey falls somewhere between the Beats of
the 50's and the Hippies of the 60's. His literary voice is admittedly
borrowed from Jack Kerouac - he even went so far as to go on the
road with Kerouac's friend Neal Cassady.
He was also the star of Tom Wolfe's The Electiric Kool-Aid Acid
Test and the leader of the Merry Pranksters who launched a great
trip across America in a bus named Furthur. |
